Terni, 6 Giugno 2012 - Il nostro sport è solito regalare delle emozioni uniche, che non cambieresti con nient'altro al mondo. Delle emozioni che ti prendono le viscere e sono in grado di scomporre e ricomporre in maniera caotica ogni tua molecola, trascinandoti e coinvolgendoti in maniera totale. Ogni volta che il tempo scade, al termine della quarta ed ultima frazione di gioco, ed il punteggio rimane inchiodato sulla parità, lo spettacolo dell'overtime sta per configurarsi…quelle emozioni cominciano a salirti al cervello e rischiano di farti andare in trance agonistica e allora capita di sentirti un tutt'uno con ciò che stai vivendo. Se in quei momenti perdi la concentrazione, la lucidità…sei spacciato. Domenica, di certo, gli Steelers non hanno perso queste caratteristiche e son riusciti a sconfiggere gli ottimi Condor Grosseto, dando seguito a quella favola che li ha visti affacciarsi da outsider al torneo di quest'anno e fare passi da gigante, nel gioco e nei risultati, fino a diventare addirittura una delle favorite per la vittoria finale. Gli umbri restano coi piedi per terra, ma ormai si rendono conto che sognare è legittimo e, ora più che mai, in un momento in cui molti appassionati e sportivi cominciano ad apprezzare sempre più il bel gioco e la concretezza dei ternani, immaginano traguardi sempre più alti. Ironia della sorte, in questo momento particolarmente felice per tutta la famiglia dei giallo-neri, il loro headcoach Bill Sytsma si ritrova in ospedale a causa di un attacco di appendicite…nonostante ciò (la passione è passione…), trova lo stesso il tempo di commentare insieme con noi il match appena disputato. The game was quite a rollercoaster with a couple lead changes. So many plays were important to escape with a win. I think the difference was that we were 4/4 converting 4th downs.
La partita è stata praticamente come le montagne russe…un testa a testa continuo, con diversi sorpassi. Tante giocate son state determinanti per strappar via la vittoria. Penso che la differenza sia stata che noi siamo riusciti a realizzare quattro 4th-down-conversions su quattro.
Which has been the secret of this great win?
The secret to the win was to never stop believing that we could win. It took all three areas of football for us to win, thats what makes it special.
La chiave di questa vittoria è stata quella di non smettere mai di credere che avremmo potuto farcela. Per raggiungere il successo c'è voluto il contributo di tutti e tre i reparti, per questo è stato così speciale.
MVP of the game? Some particular players to be mentioned?
No one player got this win, it was a total team effort. If any player deserves mention it is our WR Dayan. However, a total team effort.
Il merito non va a nessun singolo giocatore…è stato un lavoro di squadra a tutti gli effetti. Ma se proprio devo citare qualcuno, una menzione particolare va al nostro WR Dayan. Comunque, ripeto… è stato il risultato di uno sforzo collettivo.
How would you rate your opponents' game? Your personal "congratulations" go to?..
The Condors played a great game and are very well coached. The QB #7 and WR #16 are great players and play with a lot of passion.
I Condor hanno giocato una grande partita e sono una squadra bene allenata. Il quarterback #7 e il wide receiver #16 sono grandi atleti e giocano con tanta passione.
Let's look a little on what happened this weekend. How would you rate the overall scores of this playoff round? Which results surprised you most?
Well I'd like to think that we have just a good a shot to win as anybody. At this point there are no surprises. Teams this far along in the playoffs earned the proper respect.
Beh, mi piace pensare che, come tutti, abbiam messo a segno un bel colpo. A questo punto sorprese non ce ne sono. Le squadre che hanno raggiunto i playoff hanno già guadagnato il dovuto rispetto.
What would you say about your season so far? How far can you go?
I can say for certain, if we can excecute and limit mistakes...you may see the Steelers make it to the finish line.
Posso dire certamente che…se facciamo bene le cose e limitiamo gli sbagli… si potranno anche vedere gli Steelers arrivare fino in fondo…
Do you think that..there is anyone, among your players, that could deserve a possible call-up in the national team…(especially among young players)?
I have 2 players that can play on the national team....Dayan and Manuel "BigMan"
Ho 2 giocatori che possono giocare in Nazionale .... Dayan (Almeida) e Manuel "Bigman" (Pallini)
If you could get back to the beginning of the season…what would you change in your team?…where would you insist on more?…
At this point, nothing. I think the loss at home to Rome helped us grow as a team. I think the lessons in that game contributed to yesterdays big win.
A questo punto, nulla. Penso che la sconfitta in casa contro i Gladiatori Roma ci abbia aiutato a crescere come squadra. Penso che le lezioni di quella partita abbiano contribuito alla grande vittoria di ieri.
If you could steal a player (to an opposing team) and have him in your roster, who would you like?
Nobody, i love my guys as they are..we are a perfect family!

Now the playoff board says "Patriots". What kind of game will it be?
Well, this should be a great game. i coached in Bari for a season and I have great respect for them. I know how tough they can be. I imagine this game will be a great example of why football is great.
Beh, dovrebbe essere una gran bella partita. Ho allenato a Bari per una stagione e ho grande rispetto per loro. So quanto possono giocare duro. Immagino questa sfida come un esempio del perché il football sia stupendo..
